Brownies Every Time!
Everyone needs a really classic brownie recipe that turns out fudgy and
perfect every time, and this recipe is just that. They’re sweet and not too
dark, the texture is just right, and they hold together and store really well. In
fact, I’m making them again tonight for a party (to go with some homemadeice cream!). Long live delicious homemade treats to share with friends!

This recipe is that it’s really easy to customize with mix-ins. In the mood for extra chocolate and some nuts? Add them! Feeling coconut and caramel? Toss them in! I’ve added all kinds of mix-in suggestions to the recipe notes so that you can make this brown recipe truly your own.
Recipe Ingredients
- Butter
- Chocolate chips: I recommend semi-sweet chocolate chips for this recipe but you can use extra dark or milk chocolate or a combination of any if you’d like.
- Brown sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Eggs
- All purpose flour: this recipe also works great with 1:1 gluten free baking flour!
- Kosher salt

Mix-In’s for Brownies!
You can make these just as they are or add a few mix-in’s. Whatever meets your fancy!
Here are some ideas on what you can add to this brownie recipe:
- 1 cup pecans and ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup caramel sauce swirled onto the top of the brownies and ¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips scattered on top
- ½ cup white chocolate chips and ½ cup dark chocolate chips
- ¾ cup sweetened shredded coconut and 12 caramels, cut into 4 pieces each, scattered on top of the brownies

Perfect Every Time Brownies

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Additional Add-Ins:
- 1 cup pecans and ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup caramel sauce swirled onto the top of the brownies and ¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips scattered on top
- ½ cup white chocolate chips and ½ cup dark chocolate chips
- ¾ cup sweetened shredded coconut and 12 caramels, cut into 4 pieces each, scattered on top of the brownies
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease well, set aside.
In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chocolate chips and stir until they are melted.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the brown sugar and vanilla and stir until thick and smooth.
Add the eggs and stir until well combined Add the flour and salt and stir until combined.
Stir in your add-in of choice (if using any) and then pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Notes
- These brownies keep in an air-tight container well for a few days or you can wrap them well and freeze for up to three months.
- Thaw at room temperature before eating.
- Nutrition info does not include add-ins.
- You can use different kinds of chocolate chips for this recipe to adjust to your liking. Semi-sweet is a standard for brownies but you could use milk chocolate or extra dark chocolate depending on what you like or have on hand.
